Hm...I'm Still Thinking About It

I’m from the Bahamas, so I’m not the only Bahamian here on forums. This has been on my mind all day, so thought I should spill. As you know, Climate change is real, we’re seeing crisis from different countries.

Bahamas - Hurrican Dorian (Cat 5, first category to hit the Bahamas very HARD)
Australia - Bush fires
Puerto Rico - Earthquakes
Amazon Rainforests
Etc.

Now, we’re still recovering from Hurricane Dorian (2019) , I’m based on another family island that isnt affected by the storm and now what I’m seeing is a lot of trash everywhere…Im like “do they even care about land pollution”… so I’m thinking of going out on Friday which is a holiday for us to pick up trash TO MAKE AN EXAMPLE of how we NEED to keep our lands clean from land pollution. People are easily distracted & not focusing on important things that’s been there from day 1. Sooooo im gonna make a difference, I dont care if people laugh at me cause im picking up trash and we DO HAVE A GARBAGE TRUCK but arent even stopping by some areas that have trash to pick them up.

So, im gonna get up and do what need to be done. People start getting up and do what need to be done, pick up trash whever you see it. Stop littering, dont wait the last minute. Start making a difference in your country, lets end pollution. :heavy_check_mark::two_hearts::fist:t2::blush:

I’m so glad that you’re making a difference, we really need more people like you in the Bahamas. It really sucks how people dont care for our islands, leaving bottles everywhere (which causes fires) throwing trash in the ocean, trash that our fish eat…fish that WE eat and it hurts our tourism industry too.

I’ve been thinking about organizing a beach cleanup thing with my church but I’ve always been kind of nervous to bring up the idea with the rest of the youth leaders. But hopefully we can work something out

Exactly, now let’s say that they are riding in a bus taking a tour around the island and shocked to see some trash everywhere and then they are going to be having thoughts, then what? So, girl me & u need to meet up someday lol.

Don’t be nervous, stay confident, everyone has a voice, speak up so they can hear your idea, this is the time and now to do it. We only have 1 world, 1 life, we have to make a change for future generations.

And that’s such a big complaint when tourists come to Nassau, especially downtown. I have so many ideas on solutions, bperhaps we can talk about it more sometime.

And I think I should try to come up with a rough outline of what we should do. I’ll text some of the other leaders privately so I can rally up some support. And see what they think and if they have any ideas to add to mine
