Well, take two characters

Spot direct using the previewer, have one be rear but they both must be facing the same way: like so:

&CHAR1 spot #.# # # and CHAR1 faces right and CHAR2 spot #.# # # and CHAR2 faces right and CHAR2 is rear

You must spot direct them to be back to back and keep that way as long as you want
