You can share your happiness or tell if you feel alone, unhappy, sad…
You could be totally happy being alone however if you’re lonely then you feel like you have no one at the moment to confide in.
As someone who has been alone for most of her life but never experienced being lonely, I know for sure there’s a major difference between the two : )
I know that people sometimes mix them up since they sound similar
