Hi! I’m the author! For the original story - Austentatious, it was first written in July 2018 when Limelight was still quite new and we had very limited assets (if you’ve read the original you’ll see I did the best I could with what we had!)
When I re-wrote it for the featured version, I actually created a document of costumes for each class and age of the characters to give to the art team. They used that as a reference and did the best they could - obviously all new assets cost money and again we did the best we could! I agree that not everything is historically accurate but things like hats and bonnets are difficult when you have full CC for all the hair choices!
Also I did try to kind of create a period mash up with some modern phrases and things… kind of inspired by Hamilton, the musical.
Hopefully that clears some things up, glad you enjoyed the story for the most part
