How Can We Fix The Mess That Is The Trending Section?

Nah they wouldn’t. That is literally the stuff that trends. We’d be generating revenue.

You know what? If you could make enough authors to join and their stories really started trending with the exact same cover, that would be hilarious, I think we should do that

You do realise that I’m going to do it now, right?

this is just my opinion but I don’t wanna change it. yes it would be nice to see something else for once but I really don’t care people really act like kids who are 13+ are all innocent and stuff like that and that pics like this will impact there whole life. besides its just people in their underwear. but this is just my point of view. stop acting like 13 years old are little babies please.

they just want reads that’s all, and maybe some authors really like that cover. I know a few covers that I just find really good.

PREACH! Seriously, 13 year olds are getting pregnant now, let alone watching porn. Of course they know what all this stuff is already. People make too much of a big deal out of this. It’s just sex.

As if most PG-13 movies nowadays aren’t already borderline R rated lmao

My only question is why? I know that 13 year olds know stuff, but was is the point of these covers? I’ve seen some stories that didn’t even contain any sexual references, but still the author used a cover that would suggest that. Why?

maybe the author really likes the cover ? that could be the case as to why they put them there or it’s like what people do with real books they wanna attract the reader to give the story a chance

why?

I get this too, sometimes it happens when you quote something that hasn’t been up for long enough.

Yeah, I know but that’s exactly what we are talking about. Teenagers are certainly interested in sex, but I think it’s sad that authors are taking advantage of this just to get more recognition. 13 year old girls can know and probably do know things, but we shouldn’t encourage them to experience things they still have much time to experience.

Yes, thirteen year olds have likely seen porn and snuck into R-rated movies.

However, this is an app that has set guidelines and expectations. Sure, Episode could be more consistent in their promotion of the app, and their Original stories. And yes, sex sells, but I wonder how someone doesn’t feel dirty doing this on an app with a very young demographic. In that regard, I have to agree with @Annieways

Thirteen is still very young. And as an adult, I can assure you none of those kids are as mature as they think they are.

Agreed. Was gonna reply to the thread saying this but this comment read my mind. I notice that everyone is still going off the assumption that all 13yr olds are exposed to this material, but it is good to note that there are children that are sheltered, religious or feel uncomfortable seeing covers like this on the app. Episode has set these guidelines that set the code of conduct on the app, yet it just seems like some of their rules are being ignored - by their authors and their marketing team. It’s very inconsistent with the guidelines that are the foundation of the app, and something needs to actually change.

Wow, I’m late to my own thread lol.
I agree with the post on the thread, well the post that I liked. I want to say something and I’ll try not to repeat anybody.

Firstly, 13 years old are damn near ‘babies.’ AND just because some of them are exposed to porn. Doesn’t mean that people on episode should expose them some more. Most of these authors have kids. These authors should set a good example to these kids, not encourage them to think it’s okay because ‘sex sells.’

My question for them would be: Do you want your kids looking at these sexual covers? Do you want your 13 year old to read a story that has two characters/people practically dry humping each other?

If your answer is no. Then maybe you should reconsider what you put on your covers.

My main problem is that some covers get approved yet others get disapproved which is the same as or not as bad as those that did get approved.
I just want them to be more clear. Do they allow these coveres or not? And if they do, they should stop picking and choosing who can upload these covers and who can’t. The guidelines should apply to everyone regardless of who you are.

not in my eyes. They are teenagers who already (well atleast in my country so maybe this is why I don’t agree with you) have lessons in safe sex and all the other things. So I still don’t think that episode should ban it. To anwser you’re questions: I don’t mind if they look at they will have to know about sex at some point. if I want them to read a story like that? well that is their choice they are old enough to decide what they want to see and what they don’t want to see.

this is just how I see it

I wonder if they get by on the technicality that there is no nudity, even if it kind of looks like the characters are mid-thrust. Kind of like how primetime network shows film sex scenes from the shoulders up with the characters wearing bras and under sheets. MaYbE iT’s JuSt A sWeAtY hUg
