This exact statement is a huge pet peeve of mine and confuses me so much. We are human, that’s it. Talking about our struggles we face in life because of our race is not our only personality. It’s not rocket science. There’s no need to do research on “POC” as there would be a need to do research on a religion or culture to represent it properly, because everyone is different.

That doesn’t really make a difference unless you’re doing a story on black history or culture. Other than that, you can just do a POC character with POC features and give them a personality that’s not steotypical. You don’t have to research about POCs to make them characters in your story unless you’re focusing on culture, religion or history. If you have any questions about their life you can just ask some who is a POC.

I don’t know what’s stereotypical and what isn’t. I’m sorry but the reason I said that was that I didn’t want to Offend anyone by representing the POC’s in a bad way

There is no representing POC in a bad way as far as racial-socially concepts go as long as you aren’t using heavy stereotypes.

I don’t know what are the Stereotypes, my school have close to 0- which is why I always use Indians as the diversity element, because I can represent them in the way I know that we like to be represented…

That’s good then, that’s all you really need to stray away from when including different kinds of POC in your stories. Just like everyone else, we have personalities, we have hobbies and share the same interests as any other white person ever. There’s no need to make a POC character based solely on their struggles.

Nothing makes me feel more not included than when i read a story withCC and they say “ur cheeks tinted pink…” or “ur body turned white/pale”
And the parents thing is a whole nother issue
Or they use a blush overlay thats pink and it looks dumb on my character
When i blush my face gets really warm(i think my sis commented on my face bein red but not how ppl describe it in stories idk i cant explain)

You should rephrase this 
It kinda sounds like you want readers who are poc’s to not be allowed to customize their character (in my opinion )

Yes, I’m white and yes it’s true I’m not able to play episode as a person other than white. Also I mean like this is the first time anyone has brought this problem up. Although I gotta admit, I’m even used to phrases such as you mentioned, nobody uses things like that. Or at least I’ve never seen or heard.

The different lip colours is what really irritates me. I like how when we customise our characters and change the charcter’s skin tone, the families skin change but what really botheres me, is when their lip colour still remains a blush or peach colour. It makes reading the story almost unbearable as I just can’t stand to look at their faces. It absolutely bugs me.

As I already stated in my previous response, I totally agree that poc’s are not represented correctly
What I wanted to point out was the fact that that one part was kinda misleading and that:

I mean yeah you’re probably right. Anyways no offense taken. Also it’s now great in a way, to see this thread and make sure I personally won’t do the same mistakes and try to make my stories enjoyable for all, if there is a customization.
