I know what chu meant. I agree. I was just saying.
very nice
Oooh.
These are the main characters of the story I’m working on. Should be out the end of the month. There are more semi main characters which are also diverse. The reader will be playing as Miami who is the brownskin girl on the top row
The story is basically about gang life in London and the contract between rich and poor and the advantages and disadvantages. Its also trying to cut the stereotype that ‘hood’ people can’t be smart and attain more than selling drugs and working dead end jobs. I also wanted the story to stray away from innocent shy MC falls in love with heartless gang/mafia leader and they live happily ever after because that’s not realistic (no shade some of them. Stories are my fave)
I definitely see where you’re coming from and I didn’t mean it like that. By “I haven’t found her role yet” I meant I don’t know when I’m going to introduce, what she does in the story, etc. I’m making this up as I go along. I literally have no idea what roles any character will play. The reason I’m adding her is she has a specific role that no one else can really play. By that I mean getting attacked over her religion. I definitely understand your point and never thought of it like that, so thanks for bringing it to my attention.
Also what do you mean by generic diversity?
@ShanniiWrites thanks! You’re a really good writer lol that literally looks professional
Well…here we go. The main cast of my upcoming romance story (that I’ll probably never release
).
Vivian (MAIN CHARACTER)
Here is Vivian, the main character. She’s 18 years old, straight, and she’s outgoing, caring, and an incredible friend to all. She’s African-American. She has a loving family & cares deeply for her brother and the people that surround her. Although she’s a kind person, she’s also honest and blunt, and won’t be afraid to tell anyone how it is. She prides herself on her intelligence, and hopes to get into an Ivy League college in the future.
Ethan (LOVE INTEREST)
This is Ethan. He’s 18 years old, Asian-American, straight, and is a hopeless romantic. He loves to read books, specifically about Romance & Fantasy and hopes to open his own library in the future. He’s gentle, kind, and somewhat of a pushover. He will do absolutely anything to protect those he loves, specifically his little twin sisters, and is a cat person, big time.
ROMI

This is Romi. She’s from Japan and learned English when she was 8 and ended up moving to America when she was 12. She’s 18 years old, bisexual, and is dyslexic. She’s laidback, chill, yet can be a little cunning sometimes. But she would never intentionally do anything to hurt the ones close to her. She’s the president of an LGBTQ+ youth club, in which they talk about the struggles & bravery of the LGBTQ+ youth. She’s also one of Vivian’s best friends.
ALEXA
This is Alexa. She’s 17 years old, lesbian, African-American and loves to tutor teens that struggle in Math. She’s sarcastic, sort of introverted, and geeks over anything math related. She’s a vegan and a big activist of keeping the earth clean, specifically oceans and runs a blog post of trying to regulate plastic products. She’s also one of Vivian’s best friends.
BEATRICE
This is Beatrice. She’s African-American, 18 years old, and straight. She’s funny, extremely extroverted, and emotional. She loves to stream herself playing video games and has gained quite a following on doing so. She’s very passionate about starting a career in not only playing video games but creating video games as well. She’s also one of Vivian’s best friends.
KIAN
This is Kian. He’s 18 years old, African-American, and straight. He’s the brother of Alexa, and loves her dearly. He’s been in a relationship with Beatrice since sophomore year and they’ve been going strong ever since. He loves making clothes & hopes to start his own clothing line in the feature. He’s funny, sympathetic, and kind of a know-it-all. He prides himself on his fashion sense.
MARIA
This is Maria. She’s Caucasian-Hispanic, 17 years old, straight, and a twin. She’s amiable, athletic, and cheery. She cares deeply for her friends & family and will do anything to make sure they’re happy. She can be very persuasive at times and doesn’t like to see her friends get hurt. She loves to draw, whether it be digitally or traditionally. She’s one of Ethan’s best friends.
JOSEPH
This is Joseph. He’s Caucasian-Hispanic, 17 years old, openly bisexual, and the twin of Maria. He’s the class clown, loves to prank people, and extremely charming. He hasn’t really figured out what he’s wanted to do with his life yet but is content with it.
OLIVIA
This is Olivia. She’s Caucasian-American, 18 years old, and is a closeted lesbian. She can be really bitchy at times, rude, but deep down that’s just because of her own demons & insecurities she will soon face in the later Episodes. She plans on coming out to her family when she’s in college, seeing as they’re heavily religious with old-fashioned ideas. I plan on having major character development with her.
RYAN
This is Ryan. He’s 17 years old, gay, and mixed with Caucasian/Vietnamese. He’s a genuine, loving, introverted guy. He’s extremely intelligent and is passionate about Astronomy. He’s one of Ethan’s best friends.
That’s the main cast, I’m hoping it isn’t too much characters to introduce & develop, although some will be more important than others
But I’m 110% open to any constructive criticism I may receive.

Thanks! I try, haha! I want to help people with their diversity as much as possible. I’ll try to write more in the future
Hiya! I like your cast! I do have some questions:
When you say African-American, do you mean Biracial? Both of your characters that you listed as African-American seem very light skin and as though they might have caucasian features, too. Most black people in America are American too, after all!
Also, I’d love to know what skin tone you used for Beatrice. It’s a great colour for a biracial character
I thought I was the only one thinking that. Lol
In my family, we’re African-American but extremely lightskinned. I, myself, is around the same skin-tone Vivian is, and my sister is around the same skin tone Beatrice is, also having green eyes. With my cast, I wanted to show that black people can come in all shades, including “white” skin as well, without being albino. I didn’t think of Vivian having Caucasian features considering I kind of wanted to make her look a little similar to how I look IRL?
My nose is a little small and button-like, and all though my lips are a little bigger than the “small heart” lips, the lip shape is sort of similar as well. As for Beatrice, I really didn’t wanna try so hard to make her look like she was mostly black just because she’s really light-skinned. I guess I’m just a bit tired of people thinking black people can’t have white skin if they aren’t albino or mixed.
Especially coming from a family with 3 white-skinned blood siblings.
With all of that being said, thank you for the criticism! I’ll be sure to think about it more. I hope I cleared up the confusion though! Also, the skin-tone I used for Beatrice is Gold 03!
I think this is a difficult thing to show on Episode because we’re so limited with the assets we have. That’s probably why people stay away from portraying looks like this, out of fear of it coming across as “whitewashing”
I definitely agree.
Grace doesn’t really look African American, they don’t tend to look like that really. She looks more of Mixed.
so she can be mixed.
I mean you had an idea for her original ethnicity maybe change her character a bit to look apart of it? If you want her to be light skinned, some African Americans who are light look like this–
ahhh ok. ill get to it,
I’m sorry but did you do any research for their ethnicities looks? You can’t just make a character and give them a random ethnicity. You need to pick the person’s look that matches the specific one or pick an ethnicity and make the character looks match.
yh i did im still looking to search up for my characters, i guess i didnt search this one up properly.
