I suggest being very observant. Like, for example my mother loves perfume, clothes, purses and shoes—because she owns literally 50 pairs of each. And that’s only the ones I know about. I just bought her one of those and she never suspected it. Maybe try being slick about it. Like mention that you’d really like to go to the mall or something (post quarantine) and then say something like, but I’m unsure what color I think I’d like. What she replies with is the color to go with. Or if you go to Amazon or something and choose a hideous sweater, mention how much you love it, if she hates it, go with what she suggests. Unless she loves it of course. Point is, make it seem as if you’re the one asking her for their opinion on something you want, not the other way around.
