How do I Properly Introduce a Scene with Characters Already There?

More simpleton questions here :expressionless: I need to know how to transition to a new scene but with the characters already there because right now they just pop up after I put a transition in. I’ve been putting the transition and then the character’s spot placements and actions and whatnot. PLEASE HELP MY CONFUSED BRAIN!

You need to put this

INT. BACKGROUND NAME
&CHARACTER spot …

I can help! Here’s an example:

INT. BEDROOM - DAY
&KELLY stands screen center AND KELLY faces right AND KELLY starts talk_happy
@transition fade in

Basically you just have to put the & symbol for the character and put it before the transition, and the transition should be @. And do the same thing for every character if you have multiple characters:

INT. BEDROOM - DAY
&KELLY stands screen center AND KELLY faces right AND KELLY starts talk_happy
&DARYL stands screen right AND DARYL faces left AND DARYL starts laugh_giggle
@transition fade in

hopefully this works for you :slight_smile:
