How do we alter the height of characters?

I read the spot directing website thing but I didn’t really understand can someone give me some examples or explain?

In your portal, you should see some buttons on the web previewer.

Click Show Helpers then Spot Directing. You should be able to move your character around.

To reduce the size of the character, you would see the first button at the bottom left that says Switch to: Scale. When you click on it, you’ll be able to resize your character, and if you click the button again, you’ll be able to move (not resize) the character.

When you’re satisfied with it, copy the spot into your script.

Hey sorry to disturb you again but I think I have another problem related to the previous one, how do we make the character taller while walking?

I was making the customization bit for my story, It would be like the main character walks from right to the center and then once done she walks off, then I would do the love interest to walk from right to the center, but he first appears short while walking then gets tall once he stopped walking so it looks odd.

This is the code:

@ARIA exits left

@GABRIEL enters from right to spot 1.280 163 46

@zoom on 160 284 to 100% in 0

@GABRIEL spot 1.280 163 46
@GABRIEL moves to layer 3

I tried to figure this out already but is it also normal for Gabriel to like slowly become larger?

Nope. So the thing is once you start with spotting you have to continue that way for evenness in your script. Hold on.

@GABRIEL spot 1.280 163 46 …since this is where you spot gabriel, the best way to do this would be to use the Switch to: Move when Gabriel is at that spot and move him off screen, so when he enters he walks in that same size.

I don’t really understand, I am really sorry, I joined around yesterday, I have never done coding before.

I’ll try and explain it better now, but

Remove all this

@GABRIEL enters from right to spot 1.280 163 46
@zoom on 160 284 to 100% in 0
@GABRIEL spot 1.280 163 46
@GABRIEL moves to layer 3

And replace it with this

@GABRIEL spot 1.280 92 43 in zone 2 at layer 3
@GABRIEL walks to spot 1.280 163 46

@zoom on 160 284 to 100% in 0

Okay!

When he entered it was good, but when he walked off he began to shrink

I’m guessing you used @GABRIEL exits right/left…yeah?

Yes! Sorry for the late reply.

Okay so let me try explaining again. (I used my phone previewer so I could easily screen record but it works the same way on PC so don’t worry about that).

You wanted Gabriel to be a particular size, and you used spotting, where you put Gabriel at spot 1.280 163 46.

If you want him to enter without gradually increasing in size, you would wait for him to get to where you spotted him (spot 1.280 163 46) which was somewhere in the middle, then you use the spot directing button to move him away from the zone (this is because you don’t want to see Gabriel till he walks in). Make sure you move him away on a straight line.

When you can’t see him, copy the spot to your script and that would be the spot you would put him at before he enters. So let’s say after you moved him away from the zone, the spot was @GABRIEL spot 1.280 92 43 in zone 2 at layer 3. You would put that in your script and it would become

@GABRIEL spot 1.280 92 43 in zone 2 at layer 3 (the spot offscreen)
@GABRIEL walks to spot 1.280 163 46 (the spot you want him to walk to)

If you want him to leave the scene maintaining that same size, you would use the spot directing button to move him away from the zone again on that same line and write the spotting instead of @GABRIEL exits left.

Okay so, I moved Gabriel off screen (I changed his height by the way) and the result was this:

@zoom on 160 284 to 100% in 0

This is his spot:

@GABRIEL spot 1.280 92 43 in zone 2 at layer 3

And then I would just do the exit left part?

You’re not gonna use the “exits” command

Is this his spot after he leaves?
