How do you cut limbs so cleanly

First off the title sounds so disturbing :sob:

But I meant how do people cut the Episode limbs, hair so nicely? What website do you guys use because mine always turns out pretty ugly

I’m talking about both limelight and ink, if anyone could share their secret I’d be so grateful

Thank you :))

I use remove.bg then IbisPaint (:

I use remove.bg too but many times it’ll turn out quite messy ;(

Same here…They are sometime hazy :woman_facepalming:t2:

  1. Screenshot the limb attached to the body when playing the story
  2. Go to remove bg to remove the blue bg
  3. Go to IbisPaint then erase the body the limb is attached to
  4. Then you have a limb (:

I’ve never tried using ibis before, I may give it a go, is it only on phone or is it also on computer ? :))

I also use ibis paint…But I don’t thik its on computer

U can use gimp…Its similar but have more features

IbisPaint is only on Phones/IPads/Tablets

Example =
Character = Megan

Code to get the image above =…

INT. BLUE - DAY
@MEGAN changes hair into Long Down Wavy Princess Braid
@MEGAN spot 1.280 134 29 in zone 1
@pause for 1
@MEGAN is flirt_liftchin_receive_shy AND MEGAN faces right

Screenshot closer to the limb you’d like =…

image

Use remove bg =…

megan-removebg-preview

Then go to IbisPaint…
Open up a new canvas…

Click the camera to upload your downloaded image…

Then use the eraser which is found on the toolbar down the side if the screen to cut out the limb…
Once done, click the arrow in the bottom right corner…
The click ‘Download transparent png’…

Then you should have a limb overlay (:

sorry ignore that comment if you saw that. i misread the op. but, here a short step by step.

  • spot direct your character as you normally would in your story.
  • place them in a certain animation.
  • go into the app and either screenshot the character or save the image to your camera roll.
  • then open up the character in your software editing app.

if you are using photoshop. here is a step by step.

  • open up the image in a document.
  • select the magic wand- then hit select and mask. it will remove the background from your character. (it’s best not to have the character’s outfit match the background- otherwise, it makes your job harder)
  • last step. grab your lasso tool and remove the limb from your character.

all of these steps should help you maintain the quality of the limbs/edit.

Thank you so much ! I didn’t know the blue background helped
But I think my issue would be when I attempt to cut out the limb it’d be messy as my fingers aren’t steady

I used photoshop for this pose I made:

Summary

And I got a little frustrated with the hair, and that’s why I asked here as I’ve seen people cut it out sooo smoothly that you wouldn’t think it wasn’t an original Episode animation

I made this custom pose =…

for the new & most recent update using the step by step sent above (:

I usually download the hairstyle straight from the portal and have my character bald, but it helps if you have a solid background in the back with nothing but the character on the screen.

It looks so clean!! I have a pose with two characters in mind so I may try having a go using that method

I’ll send it in if I manage to succeed:))

Ouuu Ive never thought of that idea

Come to think of it that’d be so much easier…

Thank you & good luck! (:

That’s quite the title :cat_shocked: especially since I’ve been down a serial killer podcast rsthole the last few weeks.

Glad to hear it’s mundane though, phew!

I was thinking that sounds a little extreme and suspicious when I typed it :sob:

But thankfully for everyone it’s the child friendly version :,)

I have a drawing tablet and use photoshop and erase the background… lol idk how others do it. I’m not an art person either, I don’t know anything about art… I initially got a drawing tablet as a present for someone else, but then realized it could be helpful to me for cutting out random overlays perfectly… so I ended up getting one for myself lol.
