How do you depict a character as drunk through writing?

So I’m currently writing a scene in which one of my characters is drunk (like verrry drunk) and I’m not really sure how to convey this to the reader. Like I know sometimes when I’m reading things where people are drunk they’ll somehow change the words to make them seem as though they are being said in a drunken way (like adding slurs or speech impediments) and I’m not really sure how to do this. I don’t even know if what I’m saying makes any sense but I’d appreciate some help if it does :joy:

You can try adding animations (think extreme emotions like always laughing, sobbing, yelling) that make them more “awkward” but for the actual thoughts, you can make them think things they probably wouldn’t while sober. For light hearted-ness/funny: “Wow the shade of green on The Grinch is a really nice color for him” but for more risque: “Maybe it’s the drink, but they’re really cute”
