How do you place characters sitting behind tables in the INT. CLASSROOM FRONT - DAY background? My characters are just sitting on the table. It would be great if someone could help. Thanks.
You can only place characters behind objects if they are overlays. The desks are a part of the background in the background you mentioned and therefore you can’t place the characters behind the desks.

You could make the tables overlays then position them correctly which would allow characters to sit behind them.
Actually, there’s a hack to this that I’ve used before. The background can actually be used as an overlay as well. Put this as your scene name
