Hey, I just wanted to know how beta testing works, I keep seeing people ask for them but no one really goes into detail about it.

The author who needs a beta-tester asks for it, the beta tester replies that they can help.
The author sends their (most of the times) unpublished story, and tells the beta-tester what they need feedback on (like spot directing).
Now, what does the beta-tester do?
They read the story, and give feedback. Sometimes they have to read more branches (like male LI and female LI). What I do is take screenshots while reading to keep the notes, but sometimes the story is already pretty good and it just doesn’t need more feedback.

In the writers portal there is a link at the bottom of the “home page” of the story. They send that link to the beta-tester(s).
