How is this problematic story still up?

I don’t know. It was reviewed, and they made her put underwear on the characters. I don’t think they went past the scene where the rape actually occurs. The problem is, since the MC doesn’t know what’s happening, it’s unclear they even have sex until a chapter or two after the scene in question. Possibility 1? Episode didn’t see those later chapters. Possibility 2? They did. And it didn’t bother them.

This is the reason why I no longer report stories, to be honest.

Might be little off-topic, but from what I saw, most of the time, the reviewer doesn’t see the scene as I do. So, even with screenshots and at least 3 reports, it’s very possible that they won’t “find anything that violates the guidelines”. It has happened before in a public thread too…

I guess the best shot would be negotiating with the author to remove the scene so at least it can’t affect anymore readers.

lol clearly the author isn’t willing because “it’s not the time and place”

Unfortunately, people have raised the issue with her through fan-mail and IG, and she didn’t seem to care. Did you see her response to the fan-mail above? It’s really troubling.

Edit: The system bugged out when I quoted the post, but @Hila captured it above.

Also I don’t think we should expect anything from authors who are devoid of any morality and awareness to understand readers concerns about sensitive topics. If they added these scenes in the first place then they sure as hell aren’t going to be the one to remove them. Point proven above.

So neither the reporting or negotiating with the author can do anything… wow.

Maybe mass-reporting could at least bring some attention and show that the review shouldn’t be half-assed… I guess I’ll try to fill a ticket

I think it’s still worthwhile to approach them politely in the hope that they might understand. I know when I first read this story, I was really upset, but when I read that fan-mail that detailed why it was an issue, I felt a lot better, like someone else understood. In some cases, the writer might care. But not everyone owns their mistakes, and this is someone who clearly doesn’t want to hear that their story hurt people.

I did ask her politely and i had my comment deleted then I was told that it wasnt the time and place then blocked.

That is my hope, and part of why I started this thread. The other part was just that I was hurt that nothing had been done, and that this still existed with 2 million more reads than it had when I first complained. I was so overcome with emotion reading those scenes yesterday that I just had to express it here.

“Far from being a rape”

He had sex with her when she was blackout drunk, didn’t know what was happening and obviously couldn’t give consent. Then he lied about it, indicating that he knew she had no idea what was going on.
How it that not rape? Someone care to enlighten me?

Right. What I mean is even though it turned out she didn’t care, those of you who reached out and tried to explain to her why it was hurtful weren’t wrong to hope she might listen.

Can we talk about that distasteful last comment?
It’s out of order lol

That’s repugnant. All of that was just so bad.

(Also, I’m pretty sure the dude was sober.)

“She never complained”
She was so drunk she didn’t even know what was going on and couldn’t remember the next day?
There’s a difference between being drunk and knowing what’s going on and being so drunk that you’re pretty much passing out on the road unconscious and the author made it sound like the MC was the latter at the time.

This love interest is all around awful. He lies, cheats (on his girlfriend when he meets the MC) and r*pes the MC and girls still want to be with him? I…

How is someone that is drunk and blacked out wanting it!!! That’s like saying she asked for it. Do people not have education of basic consent? Oh my God the amount of ignorance in these comments. What the actual …

He also calls her a slut when he runs into her in the hall wearing the same clothes as the day before.

Oh, plus he then says “I would never do that when you’re drunk.”
Clearly he knew she wasn’t giving consent.

Uhh if he remembered it then lied to her about it proves he was more sober than her and thought well in advance to lie about it :woman_facepalming::woman_facepalming::woman_facepalming:

“In retrospect, I’m fine with what he did to me while I was blacked out” doesn’t undo ANYTHING he did.
