I think that the perfect number of episodes per a regular story is between 20-30.
I have never read or heard about a story that would have more chapters and would still be interesting. I feel like with more chapters you kinda lose your primary focus of the story and the main idea is just gone and your repeat yourself a lot. I know, some people can still enjoy it. But you still write the same thing over and over again, you add new characters who do not actually bring new value, the same goes for the plot. For the writer, I think that it takes away the creative part of the process which seems very sad.
