So, as many of you have probably noticed, the forums seem to switch all our pngs to jpegs, which can make it hard to post a picture, especially if you want the background to be transparent. So here’s a short guide for getting your pngs to work 99% of the time.
I’ll use this pic of my zepeto as an example: as you can see, it changes the picture to jpeg at first, which adds an annoying white background, because jpegs can’t be transparent.
Here’s a short 2 step tutorial for avoiding this to happen:
Step 1: Compress the PNG image
I use https://compresspng.com/ for this, but there are other free websites that can do the same. Just add your file and wait for it to be compressed. Then download it to your phone (make sure to not use the “download all” button if you can’t unzip zip files!)
It’s pretty self explanatory, but I’ve added a screenshot explaining it, just in case
Step 2: Upload the compressed PNG image
It should now be small enough for the forums to not convert it into a jpeg! If you still have any issues, please comment on this thread, so the mods will hopefully see it and fix it soon!
(I posted almost the same thread on another page too, so if you see that, no I’m not plagiarising anything, just sharing my knowledge with multiple forums )
(This actually belongs into #welcome:forum-tutorials, but it won’t let me add it there )
