How to Code Faster

• What do you do first and what do you do last? (example: dialogue then coding, coding then dialogue, going back to add music and fix speechbubbles, etc.)
  I always do what I consider as “fun” first. Pretty much everything where I can work with overlays, since that’s what I find I enjoy most. (Yes, to everyone who has known… I finally got over my fear of overlays!)
• How do you stay concentrated and focused? I wait for when the time comes. If I can’t concentrate, I simply don’t do it. I can’t code happily and successfully if I’m not in the mood.
• Are there some certain types of scenes that you used to code slower but now code much faster (example: packed ballroom scenes, school hallways, or maybe some other scene that requires a lot of time but doesn’t necessarily need a lot of background characters)? Were there any methods of which got you to do it more quickly? refer to the answer above
• How do you keep your sanity? (this is a serious question, LOL) I celebrate my little victories (for example, after coding a certain amount of lines I may get myself some candy .) I also only code on Saturdays and Sundays now, which makes me super unproductive, but at least I’m happy. When I don’t feel like coding, I just don’t code.
