How to do subtle flash transition help

I want to add a subtle flash transition to a scene to show that time has passed and have new characters walk on the scene in a different zone. How do I exactly do that, the flash?

idk if others do it differently but what I do is

@transition fade in white in 0.1
@transition fade in white in 0.1

and so on

This is a nice one…sort of a camera flash into an easing fashion following the begining of the flash back scene. Use:

@transition fade out white in 0.2
INT. FLASHBACK BACKGROUND
$ADD CHARACTERS and positions
@transition fade in white in 2
