How To Get More Reads The Real Way

Hey all, I’m just posting up some tips here on how to really promote your story and get a lot of reads!!

  1. GRAB THE READER IN: = Story cover needs to be super good!! Best way to do this, is get a professional artist to design your cover for you. It may cost a good bit of money (or you might be an artist yourself!), but it will boost your reads BIG TIME!! Most stories I’ve read with millions of reads, has LOADS of professional artist backgrounds on their covers and within the story. Professional artists will boost your reads MASSIVELY. It’s all about the artwork more than anything else.
  2. Also, get that artist to do some more artistry backgrounds within the story - yes I know, a bit more money, but readers love the artistry work, and they will be more inclined to read more of your episodes because of this.
  3. If you have a lot of friends, or work in a company with a lot of departments, or are in school, send an email out to all of the departments (in work), students and teachers/lecturers in school or college, to check your story = lots of exposure. You might have an amazing story, but if you don’t get enough exposure, how can people actually know your story exists = amazing story but less reads, if you don’t make people know it exists.
  4. If you are unemployed, not in school and don’t have a lot of friends, getting reads for your awesome story might be a bit harder, as you may not have money to get artists to make your cover stand out, and people to know that your story exists, so you will have to try other means to get more reads. I would suggest in that case, to keep posting your stories on the forums here, or social media. It’s a LOT harder when you don’t have the above steps and artists to afford and stuff, but keep trying anyway!!
  5. A lot of authors (not ALL), who have millions of reads, also pay for a marketing or promoting team to help expose their story via social media to get their story out. You can pay on instagram and facebook, to promote your story.
  6. Have a story that has the common themes like: ‘Bad boy’, ‘Vampire’, ‘Pregnancy’, ‘New girl stuff’, ‘MAFIA GANGS’ (super popular theme), ‘Mean Girls’, ‘New town or city main character’ etc - try see what the most common theme is, 'cos majority of readers prefer the same theme and less originality.
  7. Join contests and promotion offers on Episode’s social media and through forums to try get more exposure.

It’s all about getting people to know your story exists. You may have a story that is worth MILLIONS of reads 'cos it’s super good, but it may be only getting very less reads 'cos you may have missed the steps I mentioned to get them.

Good luck all, and I hope you get your reads. Just try get your story exposed.

I think most of those tips are very good. I do not agree with #6 though. In my opinion, I like the stories that don’t have those themes. People should make their stories unique. Sure, the stories that have the “common themes” get millions of reads, but there are other stories that get lots of reads that don’t have those themes. Just decided to put my opinion out there. ¯_(ツ)_/¯
Tip #1 is definitely a good one. So are tips #3 and #4. :slightly_smiling_face:

I kinda feel like all your tips suck

I seen a lot of poplar stories with bad covers. like a fairy for a vampire. that story has been in the feature sectiong always

2 I am pretty sure episode has a rule that you can not use pay for backgrounds.

  1. do you know what people has to go through to actually get acces to read your story they have to 30 chapters of episode featured ones.

  2. we do but that do much. and also most people will actually avoid your story if you spam. which btw is against the rules

5 I dont think you pay to have your episode story advatigse.

6 you mean clichi stories. a story need to stand out to get noticed not fall into the same pit as evry other story

7 only good advice

Yeah, it’s cool that you love originality and so do I. I’ve been a reader on Episode for about 3 and half years and all the popular stories are common, not original. People SHOULD make their stories unique, I 100% agree, but most don’t, 'cos originality is way less popular than common themes and I’ve seen this 'cos I’m a huge reader on Episode. Originality may do well if they have amazing art covers and within their stories, but common themes win. Very few people like you and I prefer originality, but most people want common themes. Very few stories who are original get loads of reads, and yes I’ve read some stories like this, but most stories who get loads of reads are boring same old common themes. Thanks for the feedback though BrillzGirl. We may disagree on the whole #6 thing but, thanks for being kind and civilized about this.
