How to get my characters to sit in a car?

Hey guys, I’m currently working on a chapter for my story and I’m having issues with my scene. I want my characters to be sitting in a car driving on a highway but instead one is standing outside of the car and the other one is just standing in the middle of the car. I’ve used this action many times in this same chapter and now all of a sudden; it doesn’t work. I don’t know how to screenshot off of my laptop but here’s my script:

EXT. CITY HIGHWAY LOOP - DAY with CAR ANGLE SILVER

@cut to zone 2

@AGATHA sits lower screen left

@AGATHA faces right

@JEN sits lower screen right

@JEN faces right

    AGATHA (talk_shrug)
Why are you going to your house to change? I think the outfit you're wearing looks great

You have to use spot directing to get them to sit where you want.
Spot Directing (Moving Characters Around)
As for the character being in front of the car, move the character to a negative layer.
@CHAR moves to layer -2
