How to get readers without R4R?

I already did R4R and I have 11 readers for 2 days. I want more. My story is drama and when I searched my story I found one famous story with the same name with milion readers. I started to read it and I liked it. It’s nothing like my story. Mine doesn’t have a cover yet because i still wait for episode to approve them. I write fast and I try to write at least 1000 lines (without ANY spaces even for backrounds) First 2 episodes are less than 1000 lines and 3rd one is 1200+ lines and it’s 10/15mins and I will keep it like that. I am almost halfway done with episode 4. I think my story sounds better on wattpad in my native language but I wanted to write it on episode in English.
Any tips to get readers?

keep on promoting your story. Hm, promote it on instagram episode accounts that have stuff like sending your story in to be feature on their page, like I have an ig account for episode stories, so u can send me your story and ill feature on my page.

np, and if u see any members just want to read stories, just keep on promoting and promoting.

R4R is the best option imo, perhaps try to promote your story on ig as well

I already did r4r

I think promoting on IG on accounts meant for this purpose is a great idea, plus R4R and generally being active on the forums in various ways, and checking up on the ‘promote your stories’ thread or when members say it’s okay to recommend your own.

However, I would advise against promoting at any chance (like copy and pasting promotions all over) or when someone has specifically requested they are looking for recs but not to promote own stories. That actually might result in the exact opposite effect of what you want.

ETA: With the R4R, you could also ask your friends (if they like it) to add your story to their ‘recommended’ stories shelves. That way, it’s less in your face, and readers have the freedom to just check out an ep to see if they like it before continuing.

The other alternative is to ask for honest feedback from long-time readers. That way, you can work on improving the story. As creative people, we can become too close to our own stories. Helps to have an objective point of view sometimes.

Best of luck! I know it’s difficult but don’t give up!

There are a lot of group accounts on Instagram that do shoutouts, reviews, story of the week/month etc. You can submit your story for those too.

Then do more :money_mouth_face:
It’s not only a good way to promote your story, but it’s also a good way to make some new friends
