Well, it’s impossible to have a choice without dialogue before it, seriously, you need to include dialogue before a choice. You must have a character think/say something or have the narrator speak before you write a choice. You can’t have a zoom command, label, speechbubble command, character placement, etc. before a choice, it needs to be words coming from a character or the narrator. But, there is a way around this! All you do is set your speechbubble’s scale to 0%. This will make the bubble disappear. Put the speechbubble command before the dialogue. So, the order is, 1. speechbubble command set to 0%, 2. Dialogue before a choice, 3. The choice
Example:
@speechbubble is X Y to 0%
NARR
Bla bla bla…
choice
“Choose this Option”{
@speechbubble reset
NARR
Scene here.
}
#continue story
So, a reminder, scale your speechbubble to 0 percent and do not forget to reset the bubble or else your story will play like a silent movie (you can also reset it by scaling it to a value higher than 0% so it’s visible)!
Another Example:
EXT. FIRE - NIGHT
@zoom reset
NARR
Be prepared to own this battle!
@speechbubble is 160 237 to 0%
NARR
Click it! CLICK IT!
choice
“ATTACK!”{
@speechbubble reset
NARR
Bla bla bla…
}
NARR
You won. Yay!
