🙋‍♂️ How to have multiple endings?

How can you have your story have multiple endings? Is their an easier version?

use of gains and complex branching mostly . :heartbeat:
also you need to be quite familiar with labels and gotos!

If you could, I would be grateful

alright, so here’s what a multiple ending story would look like, if it was based on a love interest choice

EXAMPLE

PAIGE (think)
(But honestly, I think I’ve fallen in love with…)
choice
“Rick”{
gain rick_love
PAIGE (admire)
It’s Rick! I’m in love with Rick…
goto storyend_rick
}
“Ethan”{
gain ethan_love
PAIGE (admire)
It’s Ethan! I’m in love with Ethan…
goto storyend_ethan
}
“Cody”{
gain cody_love
PAIGE (admire)
It’s Cody! I’m in love with Cody…
goto story_endcody
}
label story_endrick
here you would have all the dialogue, scenes and such with rick as your final love interest, considering this is the last episode!
MAKE SURE AT THE END OF THE RICK PORTION, YOU TAKE THE READER TO THE END OF THE STORY LABEL, OR ELSE THEY WILL WIND UP READING THE OTHER OPTIONS BELOW IT
goto story_end
label story_endethan
here you would have all the dialogue, scenes and such with ethan as your final love interest, considering this is the last episode!
MAKE SURE AT THE END OF THE ETHAN PORTION, YOU TAKE THE READER TO THE END OF THE STORY LABEL, OR ELSE THEY WILL WIND UP READING THE OTHER OPTIONS BELOW IT
goto story_end
label story_endcody

Since cody was our last option, it won’t really matter if you use the goto story_end label, because he is the last choice, but I still do it anyways bc why not :joy:
goto story_end

label story_end
if (rick_love){
PAIGE (idle_happy)
(I’m so glad, I ended my journey with Rick by my side…)
}
elif (ethan_love){
PAIGE (idle_happy)
(I’m so glad, I ended my journey with Ethan by my side…)
}
else {
PAIGE (idle_happy)
(I’m so glad, I ended my journey with Cody by my side…)
}

here’s just a little example, I hope it makes some sense!
