How to make characters loop

Hey
So im using a looping background and I have my main character walking down the street
I’m wondering if there’s a way to make like background characters loop on the background like there shoppers if that makes sense
So it would be like the same character walking back around on the loop passing my character multiple times if that makes sense
I’ve seen it done in another story and I’m wondering how to do it or if id need to keep repeating the sequence myself in between speech

I did a quick search for you and found a template that uses 16 characters - if that’s too many for your scene, don’t worry, just read how they did it and apply that to your scene.

^^ you also no longer need to use Dara’s template for looping with their new donacode – however, idk how well it works given I haven’t used the code and would definitely keep Dara’s template handy in case it doesn’t work properly. :slight_smile:

Any chance you can see where im going wrong here
Ive tried so many ways to get them to walk on screen together walking which they do but when they get to the spot they stop
I tried adding different versions of @ and & and it wont have them all walk together after this spot point

I want the characters to walk in off screen and carry on walking but no matter what i do it wont work

Try coding it like this;
@CHARACTER1 walks to spot x y in zone # in # and CHARACTER2 walks to spot x y in zone # in # and CHARACTER3 walks to spot x y in zone # in #
&CHARACTER1 starts walk_neutral_loop and CHARACTER2 starts walk_neutral_loop and CHARACTER3 starts walk_neutral_loop

^^The @ reads in a script as a pause of sorts - the script won’t move forward to the next code line until the @ code line is completed. The & is read more as a “these actions can happen together with the next action on screen”.

Edit: Could you scroll the box under “Errors” so I can read below the one about your background or is that the only error listed?

&SCARLETTE RENAE walks to spot 0.542 74 238 in zone 1 in 3 then SCARLETTE RENAE is walk_neutral_loop
&BIANCA walks to spot 0.443 107 263 in zone 1 in 3 then BIANCA is walk_neutral_loop
&ELI walks to spot 0.488 116 282 in zone 1 in 3 then ELI is walk_neutral_loop

(Add this command at the end of their walking codes).

I just saw my post from a different thread (with the same question) got merged into this topic :flushed: I had no idea this user was already being helped :sweat_smile:
@trixi_episode.x for future reference, please do not create multiple threads when asking the same question because we all spend a lot of time and effort into answering your question and if multiple people do, on different threads, it can be unfair to people’s time :heart: You wanna keep it all within one thread :revolving_hearts:

Anyways, I hope you were able to get your problem solved :blob_sun: (please, know I mean no harm by what I say :blue_heart: )
