I want to make some characters stand outside that coffee shop and for that I need to make windows and glasses transparent. I cut out the entire door and windows portion from the image and uploaded it as an overlay, but it didn’t work.
Cut the windows and door out first so they can be used as an overlay, and then cut everything but those out. If that makes sense. Lol do you want me to help?
There are a couple ways of getting windows that are transparent.
You can make overlays of the windows and doors and upload it, then change the opacity in your Episode story script. (This may be easier since you already cut out the doors and windows earlier.)
Example:
&overlay WINDOW create &overlay WINDOW opacity % < 100%
&overlay WINDOW moves to layer 3
&overlay WINDOW shifts to 50 150 in zone 1
You can take partly erase the windows and doors in PhotoShop so that the opacity is greater than 0, but less than 100%. Then you save this as an overlay.
Hi When doing and overlay which should have translucent glass I cut out all the glass and I add new layer under it filling it with white gray or light blue atc ( dependind on what color I want the glass to be)
And than I play with the transparency of this layer till it has the translucency I want.
In your case si there are ornaments so it will need more work with the cutting out but this is what look in my opinion most natural.
Or you can just simply put the cut out whole windows to new layer and reduce the opacity… but then it will make translucent also the ornaments and the “glass” will have still the background visible there “above the character” so it will be bit less realistic
