How to start the first chapter of a story

I’m writing my first story on episode and I’m confused as to how to start the first episode. Making it interesting and captivating at the very first episode is harder than I thought. I’ve rewritten the first episode about three times already and I’m still not satisfied as I wasn’t my story to be as flawless as possible.
I finally decided to start the first episode with a little flashback to the MC’s past to understand her actions better before going to the present. Is that okay?
Do you have any other suggestions for me?

That sounds good! Go with whatever you think is the best. You can always go back and edit the first chapter before you publish it if you think of something new while writing chapters 2 and 3.
