How to stop characters from looking like they’re walking up or down stairs?

Hello! So, i’m writing my first story and whenever i use the spot directing and someone enters or exits scene, it looks like they’re walking up or down stairs? Any advice is appreciated xx

Hey can you send a pic of your code where that happened.

Humm… so when you are moving your character to one zone to another zone make sure you move them straight.

And if that’s not the case then, can you show your script?

Its basically just

@CHARACTER enters from right to spot 1.223 252 0

But when shes walking to the spot, its as if shes walking down stairs?

@CHARACTER enters from right to spot 1.223 252 0

But when shes walking to the spot, its as if shes walking down stairs…

You changed the scale. The default scale is 1.280. So you shrinked her. You can spot her off screen with that scale and then make her walk to that spot.

Lets say

@CHARACTER spot 1.223 -55 139 in zone 1

then have your character walk

@CHARACTER walks to spot 1.223 252 0 in zone X

You should use walks to instead of enters from…
Example-
@/CHAR spot 0.830 -18 104 in zone 1 AND CHAR walks to spot 0.830 125 96 in zone 1
or
@/CHAR walks to spot 0.830 125 96 in zone 1
(Don’t use this…It’s just an example)

Using “enters from” or screen positions use the default character scale size of 1.28. So you’re making your character enter at scale size 1.28 then shrinking her down to 1.223. If you want your character to enter the scene with scale size 1.223, then you need to spot direct her offscreen with that scale size then make her walk to that spot.
