How To Use Reader Messages

Reader messages are the little sentences that pop up from the top of your screen.
This is what you would put into your script to have the readermessage pop up on your screen.

INT/EXT. THE SCENE - DAY/NIGHT

readerMessage (your sentence)

Example:

INT. BLACK - DAY
readerMessage A few years ago…

It’s very simple and easy to use. There is nothing to really explain although, I would watch a tutorial on YouTube or put a form of dialogue before saying readerMessage.

I would like to add something just for those who are new.

Did you know you can also include a title in a reader message?
You can do so by simply writing:
readerMessage (your message here) with messageTitle (your title here)
Example:
readerMessage This is an example with messageTitle Example

This is a good resource regarding ReaderMessages

Also for those that don’t know, you can use some text effects such as bold letters or changing the colors of the text in a readerMessage.
