HOW TO: Use the previews and unpreviews directing command 💜 🌙

The previews/unpreviews feature:

This is a directing command in which you can get a character to change out of their original look into something else and then after a while, you can change them back to how they were before. It only works in one episode where you can unpreview/preview outfits and/or features. In the next episode, it automatically defaults to what they originally wore/have regardless of whether you previewed it and let it stay previewed for the entire previous episode.

Perfect for: Showing a childhood scene of a character, in dressing games, a dream, choosing spywear from three options, fighting crime, then visiting a ball in a gorgeous gown and once the baddies attack, your gown comes off and you’re back in the original spywear option you chose, etc. The possibilities are endless, friends!

Thank you so much i just have a question.
If i use the preview command to change the mc’s hair for a flashback and then use the unpreview command after. Will that change the hair back to what the reader chose when they customised the mc?

Yes :purple_heart:

This is so useful! Just wondering, is there a way to unpreview everything in one command or do you have to specify which features (eg. do you have to specify the outfit) you want to unpreview?

Thank you for this! There is a issue with a chapter of mine since I have used the commands though and I can’t seem to see what exactly is wrong. I have used this command near the end of the chapter and have followed the unpreview command as well as the preview command but it shows my characters fangs throughout the whole story instead of the scene? What can I do to fix this?

@Unicorn16 you’d unpreview each feature with a different command. You can create a duplicate character. So the OG (original) character can preview features and when you want them gone, you can bring the duplicate with the original features onto the scene (both should have the same display name). The last time I tested:

@esrabrently When you’re testing out your story on the app, reset story progress and play through it fully. Make sure everything is written correctly. If you’re still stuck, can you tell me your original character’s lip shape and the fangs one?

No problemo :black_heart:

OMG! I was about to smash my computer because I couldn’t figure out how to do this! I wanted the reader to customize the character and have the character’s eye color change when they use their super powers! Thank you so much, @JemU776! You’re so helpful!

Hi, I am directing a flashback scene where a female character changes hairstyle and haircolours 4 times in the same episode. It let me do so for the first time, but for the next three, it changes the hairstyle, (no issues there) but sets the default haircolour. I tried to unpreview the previous and then again preview but it doesnt work…
