Hey @JadeBeckson I totally understand your feelings! I feel the same tbh. I put so much effort in writing and directing but my stories are not getting anywhere. At least you got one that was popular so you should take pride in that!!! I’ve actually gave up for a while but then I realized I just want to write. I have so many ideas bottled up inside of me that I just needed a place to let out! So this is it. Of course I am still trying to promote my story whenever I can! Let me tell you, nobody except for my bf knows that I write stories on here. I think it’s embarrassing, IDK why if you ask me. I hide this side of me from everyone I know. But it feels good when I write. So I do it anyways. Maybe we can talk more? unpopular author to unpopular author? lol

I totally feel you. There is a girl who I met when I published my story, we were both new authors in early 2019. She published her story a few weeks after me and guess what. Today I have only about 196 views and she has more than 100 000 views today. I felt like shit, I was sad and I cried, because we started at the same time but why is she successfulĺ but not me? What the girl did that I didn’t do correctly? I wanted to scream and I was mad , because I was always getting ghost when I did the R4R and most of the time I gave others big long reviews in hope that they will give me big reviews too, so I can work on my mistakes, but I got nothing back. I was mad and because english isn’t my first language, I had to work harder and harder. But nobody would give a shit and read my story at the end of the day.
There is always going to be someone better than you, no matter what you do. It’s the reality. There is always to be someone who has an easier life than you.The girl who got 100k views is of course a talented girl and she deserves all the love and the support from her readers, but I believe that she got luck too. I guess God decided that she would be successful from the start and not me. What can we do? We can’t just cry and cry and cry, because nobody will give a shit at the end of the day, not even your real friends or your boyfriend in real life, unless they are into Episode (It’s personally my case, my bf and friends never took the time to read my work. I can’t be mad at them, because reading can be hard and long for other people who are not into reading, so it’s okay).
But it’s not a reason to give up. I believe that one day you will get what you want. Don’t count on people to get views but try to make true friend from this community that will support you from A to Z. Since early 2019, I have like 3 true friends and supporters from this community and I write for them. I don’t write for the views, but I write for me, for my passion and for my supporters. I believe that one day you and I will get the success we deserve. Slowy, the number of views and supporters will go higher. Just don’t give up now, if it’s truly your passion and you work hard ,I’m sure that it’s going to be our turn one day! Try to be active on Instagram , try to upload your story at least 1 time per 1-2weeks, be active on forum, do R4R, etc. There is no really other way to promote ur story. Just continue and don’t give up.
