is 200 lines of code for a start / title screen and about 10 seconds of the opening scene too much?

I don’t think so!
I my opinion, it shouldn’t be any longer than a minute. And what I do for my stories, is have the first episode with what I call a “full intro” and then for the rest of the story I cut down the intro time by about half by either cutting instead of zooming and dropping pauses for 5 seconds down to 2 or 3, if that makes sense.
If it drags on too much at the start of every episode, you may lose the readers interest. Unfortunately I’ve stopped reading some stories for that reason before.
