so guys i noticed in some stories the author gives us choices whether we would like to support her or not, and i was wondering what does that do?

I might be wrong but I think it gives them gems to unlock the writers payment??

It gives them gem chapter reads helping unlock the payment option. I could help with some questions about coding.
Total 100,000 gem chapter reads 2 and 300 gem choices selected 3 across all of your published stories in the last 60 days.
(*1) Every time an Episode user reads any chapter from your stories, you will earn a general chapter read.
(*2) Every time an Episode user reads a chapter from your stories where they see at least one gem choice, you will earn a gem chapter read (in addition to earning a general chapter read).
(*3) Every time an Episode user selects a gem choice in your stories, you will earn a gem choices selected.

Here’s what I don’t understand! I’ve seen support choices before, but the support option is not a gem choice. When I look at my gems after I press the choice, nothing has changed at all! Why is that? Did the author just forget to make it a gem choice!
No, some people just don’t have to spend gems in community stories but it still contributes to an author’s gem read, it used to happen to me as well but my episode updated so it doesn’t happen anymore for me
