I haven’t been to the dentist, in a very long time. And I have a dental appointment next week. And I’m scared…
Don’t panic about it and you’ll be fine (:
I went for the first time since lockdown a few weeks ago and It was just like normal apart from with a few measures added to prevent COVID19 (:
I dont even know what’s going to happen. I mean well my mom said ill be getting cleaning and filling. I think.
You’ll be fine, the more you panic the more petrified you’ll make yourself (:
Don’t panic about something you have no power over (:
It is normal to be scared for the dentist or anything you haven’t done in a lot time. I think msot people have some sort of dental fear. What is it that you are scared of? Being there after everything or or the actual work being done?
It is probably going to be fine. Try to think positive or else it will make it worse. Maybe reward yourself with something small for facing the dentist. I know this is a parent tactic for training kids but it might work. Just think about getting that thing you get at the end.
the work being done, and the tools kind of scare me. ;.; I don’t know if an injection is required for filling/cleaning. ;.;
I remember getting that done. And I know I made a big deal out of nothing in the end. I have had loads of injections over the years and I literally cried after getting a vaccine because I had worked myself up the whole day. So you have to try and not work yourself up about it and think about something else (coming from an expert overthinker). And it won’t be as bad if you don’t focus on it because at the end you will think “That wasn’t as bad as I thought”.
Oh wow.
They might do an injection to numb your mouth. It depends how severe the cavity is. Or they could use numbing jelly that’s topical, however it doesn’t do as much as a shot would. The shot isn’t too bad, especially if it’s injected in your cheek. They’ve never injected a shot in my gum
Just think about stuff that calms you down. It should help :))
Okay so just came back from the dentist, oh gawd, my teeth feel soo uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhm well you know a bit lose and a bit sore maybe. I have 3 cavities, I have to get fillings, and they said something about 2 wisdom tooths. Ugh…
If you have to get wisdom teeth removed and you’re freaked about it they can put you under. Personally I had them just use injections. They took 4 teeth out that hadn’t even erupted yet and it didn’t hurt at all after they did the shots. Of course afterwards you have to make sure you clean them correctly (push the nose of the syringe into the hole and squirt water every time after you eat, don’t just squirt water over the area).
Fillings were a bit more of a pain, they didn’t really hurt to get but the injections vary in how much they sting based on where they have to put them in and when they wear off it’s pretty sore after. I dunno, I can’t tell you nothing hurts ever but it’s all very manageable and it’s way better than letting your teeth rot. This is routine stuff for dentists and they know what they’re doing so you have nothing to really worry about.
okay.
I am sorry you’re stressed about, I wish you the best of luck! It’ll be over with before you know it!
Omg this was literally me the other day. Trust me, it’s not as bad or torturous as you think it is. I went to the dentist to get a cleaning done and a cavity filled and felt literally nothing. The worse part of the cleaning is when they’re scraping your teeth, and even that isn’t that bad. Have no worries, trust me
yep, it wasn’t that bad but that’s what i really hated. lol
Welp, I’m no help here unless you want someone to be scared with.
I dread going to the dentist.
