I’m scared of childbirth

I think it’s scary as well, but I would like kids of my own and I like to be around kids. Yes adopting is an option, but I see that as reminding me of what I was afraid of.

I’ve personally never had kids. Not a fan of kids as well. But my friend @CosmicIvy gave birth to a beautiful boy a year or so ago. This topic is right up her alley.

Plus kids are a huge portion of your life. It’s up to you and your partner.

I had a vaginal birth, no epidural. They can give you a pain medication through the IV but it’s worthless to be honest.
Early labor feels like period cramps. They get more intense and longer as your labor progresses.
I’m not going to lie, the pain is pretty traumatic. You forget about it though soon after.

That is true you forget the pain. As soon as you hear your babies first cry. It’s an emotional and wonderful feeling.

I had a natural labour, no painkillers only the ones through IV, the contractions were pretty bad but through the pushing I didnt even realize the pain anymore
the worst thing was the sewing in my opinion
but it really depends on the woman, I recovered pretty fast, I mean three hours after the labour I was okay and didnt feel almost any pain anymore
and like Ivy said, you forget how it hurt pretty quickly
if youre scared theres always epidural

I’m not a mother and I have 0% chance of being one, but I kinda feel like the childbirth is a relatively short chapter in The Adventures of Mom ™. I see a lot more people talking about “I had to get up with my baby 4 times last night :disappointed:” “The terrible twos, amirite?” and less so about the childbirth and recovery. I’ve heard moms say that it’s all worth it when they hold their new little one in their arms. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

:face_vomiting:

All I know about my glorious entrance into the world is that Mom should’ve peed first. We were at it for like 14 hours. It was a battle. My head was a little squished from the time I spent getting out of there (but no dain bramage I wsear). I think she had an epidural or something… but she talks more about how I came out with a squished head rather than “it was like one of those alien creatures tearing its way out of my FLESH” so I think the reward (me) was worth it. :sunglasses:

Does every woman that gives birth have their vagina teared or is it just a rare thing for it to happen?

its actually not rare, it happens quite often  sometimes they have to cut you with scissors too, but its better than when it tears up on its own
but a few of my friends told me if you have epidural the sewing doesnt hurt

I did a quick search, looks like 26% of moms who give birth that way have a tear that needs stitches, and about 2% have a severe tear.

“Scarlet get outta this thread, you’re not helping!” :joy:
