I’ve already planned that out. When the dad leaves, her mother begins to shut her out, she became a workaholic. Her mother felt like she was the reason her daughter no longer had a dad, and she couldn’t deal with it so she decided to distract herself with work. That damaged their relationship pretty bad, because the MC needed her mother’s support and she wasn’t there. When the story starts, the MC acts very cold toward her mother, but at this point she’s trying to repair their relationship. And that’s because she met someone else, and is now expecting. Of course the MC doesn’t know that though. When she got pregnant and started spending time with this guy she started to realize her mistake. She wants a do-over, so I guess the baby is supposed to be her second chance, but she still wants to make up with the MC. The mother doesn’t blame the dad, she honestly blames herself for pushing him away. The MC doesn’t blame her mother for the fact that he left, but she blames her for the lack of emotional support.
