Unless she’s underage I don’t know how that’s a conflict, like keeping it secret from her mother if she’s over protective could add tension but from your description it seems like your story is a character driven narrative - the stakes don’t seem high enough. Is there any other reason this boy could be seen as not a good match for the MC?
