Hello, so I’m really getting into advanced directing but I have some questions about
directing and coding.
So, I wanna know how can I fade a character I’ve read some threads about how and where authors explain but I’m still confused lol can y’all give me some tips on how to do it?

I kinda know how to do transitions but like do you have any tips on transitions.

transitions is usually fade out black/white in (HOW MANY SECONDS)
With spot directing there’s a panel on the side and you press on character spot, move the character to where you want them to go then copy the code to the script.

To fade a character you need to have the background that they’re standing on, preferably the exact zone and position they are standing in. This will have to be an overlay so upload it to your account as a PNG. Then your character needs to be at layer 0 and your overlay at layer 1. You should have the OVERLAY (which would be the background) to an opacity of at least 0.5 (although you can make it more transparent if you want). When you’re ready for your character to fade you code it like so:
@overlay BACKGROUND opacity 1.0 in 5
This will make your overlay have no transparency at all and your character will be gone behind it.
