I want a character to be in my story without having to make them enter

In my story, I have a character that sleeps on an island, and I then have a scene change that makes it so the time of day changes. the problem is, is that I can’t figure out a way to make it so when the scene changes, she is still on the ground sleeping. I’ve tried moving her spot, but I can’t figure it out.
Here is my text if you need it:

choice
“Yes, I should see what the heck this place is.” {
(Haven’t started this choice yet)
}
“No, I should rest” {

@/KATE spot 0.975 -65 249
@/KATE is sleep_lay_uncomfortable_loop

    NARRATOR
4 HOURS LATER

EXT. ST JEZEBEL ISLAND BEACH - SUNSET
@/KATE is sleep_lay_uncomfortable_awaken
@/KATE spot 0.975 -65 249 (<< This was me trying to get her to end up in the same area)

}

Sorry if this is a dumb question and was asked before, I just can’t figure it out!

Try using & instead of @ for the spot command and the animation command when you change the scene.

Maybe try putting the spot before action, and yeah, Mystery.Author is right. If you use @ then the character will end up randomly appearing.
