BUT there are also community writers that have episode featured stories that I find also stick to the mature content that was in their community version of their now featured story… so as long as the mature content isn’t like pornographic lol… it seems like you should be fine, and yeah have a splash warning of course : )

Nah, there are other contest entry winners who’s stories have splash warnings for mature subject matter and strong language.

As long as it abides by the guidelines, then it should be fine but in general, stories on Episode do need to be PG13.
I personally have a story (Maternal Instincts) that I feel is more 15+ but that’s just my opinion, really. Nothing in it broke guidelines and it won a contest.
I guess it depends what kind of mature content you’re talking about?

With sexual content- just make sure it abides by the guidelines.
You should be fine.
If something is a minor violation of the guidelines, the team sometimes get the authors to make the changes and then they still end up being a contest winner.

What about strong language?

I believe people have been told to make changes if they use swear words more than 5 times in an episode (including censored words e.g f*ck), but I also believe it depends on the context.
Like mentioned above- it might be a good idea to give a strong language warning at the start of your story. Note: any warning screen for mature content or strong language doesn’t give you a “pass” to break the guidelines so even if you include a warning, if your content violates the guidelines you can still be suspended

Question is whst you mean with mature content.
Every story has to be withing the +13 rules - so basicly mature content still must be done so it is fitting this rule.
Its not like that you can make fully mature story and just put a warning and it is done with it. I you do soner or later your stoy flagged by somebody as inapropriet and will be shutted down and you will have to re do it to be visible again.
On the other hand ste rules are not that strict - there is limit for strong swearing words .I believe max 5 per chapter, there is limitn on describing sex or animation sugesting sex is happening atc…
