Fun Fact: If Taylor Swift and Taylor Lautner get married, there would be two Taylor Lautner’s in the world.
Ff: That sounds creepy as shit
Fun Fact: you can make chocolate mousse with chickpea’s cooking water (aquafaba)
Fun fact: Im low key stalking this thread and keep clicking it
Drat, I’m back.
Ooh, I’ve got one:
They say “If you see a baby bird on the ground, you can’t pick it up or the parents will smell your human stink and kick it back out again,” but this is false, most birds can’t smell much if at all. If you see a baby bird with little or no feathers and it isn’t hopping, it fell by accident, and since its parents can’t pick it up, it will probably die without help.
So you can put it back in the nest, or at least on a branch will be better than nothing.
If the little bird has feathers and is hopping around, though, it’s probably in the middle of flying lessons and the parents are probably nearby, so it’ll be fine, you can leave those ones to their own devices.
It’s mammals, however, that don’t want you and your stinky hands to help them haha. Most mammals have excellent senses of smell, plus they can carry their young by the scruff, so they’d probably rather be left alone.
FF: I’m a little bummed that @veganwater’s rant thread about things that don’t matter got merged into the rant thread that’s full of depressing stories, It felt nice having a thread to rant about silly or annoying stuff without having to come across content that made you cry
thank you
I was gonna rant about that but I was scared I was gonna be banned

FF: A flamingo’s brain is smaller than their eyes. https://www.flamingos-world.com/flamingo-anatomy/ (You can find it in the 6th section. I only knew about this because when I was super young I had to do a report on a flamingo so I searched up things about flamingos and found that.)
another ff…
FF: The views and comments/replies don’t match up so we lost.
Ff I wasn’t gonna write one but the comments don’t match up with views
(Yeah, the comments and the views aren’t even close, but I’ve still got fun facts so here I am.)
When you pant after you’re done exercising, it’s because of oxygen debt.
Your muscles were kicked into high-gear and your body didn’t have enough oxygen for them to properly use stored glucose, so they just ripped a tiny bit of energy off the glucose and dumped it as lactic acid. A good portion of the lactic acid made its way to the liver (the body’s hazardous waste processing unit). Once you stop exercising, the liver has all this lactic acid gunk, and it has to do work to turn it back into nice glucose again. To do that work, it needs oxygen. So it says “Bitch keep breathing hard, that stunt you pulled doesn’t come free.”
Bonus fun fact: When you’re running and you get a cramp/stitch on your side, that’s the lactic acid buildup. Lactic acid is actually kinda bad for you. But being chased by a lion and getting caught is even worse for you, so your body does what it has to do, because your body is metal af.
You can instantly wake up any body part that falls asleep by shaking your head back and forth!
Cows can see 300 degrees around their heads, almost everywhere except directly behind them.
Also they have limited vision of the colours blue and yellow.
A not-fun but important fact:
Sometimes a heart attack feels like elephants standing on your chest and crushing you. But other times, especially for women, a heart attack can feel like you’ve just been running a marathon and are getting queasy.
Ofc, most of y’all aren’t in the range for heart attacks, but it’s still important to know these things.
Bonus heart attack-related non-fun fact:
If someone is unconscious and their heart isn’t beating, but it’s too unsanitary to do mouth-to-mouth for whatever reason, the chest compressions are more important than the mouth-to-mouth anyway, you can skip the mouth-to-mouth part and just do the compressions and still have a good chance of saving their life.
Fun fact: the term litterbug was made by companies to shame the consumer so they wouldn’t have to pay as much money on glass bottles
Fun fact: There are only slightly more people in Canada (37m) than in the greater Tokyo metropolitan area (36m).
Bonus fun fact about the lack of people in Canada:
In this green area:

there are approximately 125,000 people.
A few cities with comparable populations:
Cambridge, UK
Kingston, Ontario, Canada
Santa Clara, California, USA
Topeka, Kansas, USA
Kent, Washington, USA
Darwin, Australia
Yup, that part of Canada is very deserted and very cold.
