I'm really confused about conversations between characters

#1

Hey guys! So in my story, I let the readers choose out their name for the story, I’m working on conversation between two characters. The script name I have for the reader is FEMALEAVATAR and I’m stuck on how to insert the reader’s name while the two characters talk. This is what it looks like right now.

STELLA (callout_neutral)
Hey! ‘FEMALEAVATAR’!

Is their something that I’m missing?

You need to type something like this in order for the name that the readers chose to appear

STELLA (callout_neutral)
Hey! [FEMALEAVATAR]

#3

You can try [FIRSTNAME]

#4

Look for this code in your script: (it’s the code to let readers type in their name)

input What is your name? | What is your name? | Done (NAME)

Check what is inside the parentheses (the bolded part above). Take that and wrap straight brackets [ ] around it in dialogue.

STELLA (callout_neutral)
Hey! [NAME]!

To learn more about that code and how to get the name on top of speech bubbles, read this guide: A Guide to Typed-in Choices

Yeah literally just replace your apostrophes ’ ’ with brackets [ ]

               STELLA (callout_neutral)
          Hey! [FEMALEAVATAR]!
