In every story, there are multiple scenes involved. In order to make them flow together, you wouldn’t have one scene with the MC talking about wanting ice cream and then the one after that her asleep in her bed. When, actually you would have the MC talking about wanting ice cream ad the next scene with her getting ice cream. Basically: try not to skip certain scenes or it won’t make sense.
