I’m not sure if this is the right category so please bare with me.
I’ve been writing a story for a while, I keep getting demotivated as I don’t understand how to make choices that impact the story completely. Choices that stick, or choices characters will ‘remember’. I assume this is some kind of scripting that is fairly advanced.
The only way I thought about this is branching off new storylines completely from a single choice… I wanted to try making a story with two separate story endings, and like, remembered choices.
Is there a way to refer to a prior choice in a different chapter with a different outcome to a situation. Like referring to a favourite colour mentioned previously, or favourite food, ect… that’d lead to like minor changes in the story. Like, a different scene outcome in a future episode.
I’m not sure if this is really making sense, but I don’t know how to carry a choice onto a different chapter, basically. lol
