In need of some help on the code for the dressing game | Dara Amarie

So can anyone tell me what I’m doing wrong?

LINE 71 Is the one I’m having problems with

"In the | Script Tools | the ERROR says…

“There is a { on line 71 that does not have a matching }”

SCREENSHOT

You’ve put the opacity change of BUTTON_DONE_TAP in a new line. If they’d be connected and would take more than a line of space there wouldn’t be a line number.

“No, let me try a different outfit.” {
&SAM starts idle
&ui ARROW_TAP_LEFT opacity 1 in 0.3 and ui ARROW_TAP_RIGHT opacity 1 in 0.3 and ui BUTTON_DONE_TAP (Line 73)
opacity 1 in 0.3 (Line 74)
if (SAM =1) {
goto arrow_outfit_tap_1_x
} elif (SAM =2) {
goto arrow_outfit_tap_2_x
} else {
goto arrow_outfit_tap_3_x
}
}

Oh okay, I’ll give it a try and I’ll let you know if it worked :heart:

It’s telling me this now…

Script Tools Error

Expected CHARACTER or SCENE change, Found ““No, let me try a different outfit.” {” instead. Did you forget to CAPITALIZE the name, or close the ( ) around the animation

The part I quoted wasn’t a fixed script, I added it to show you where and what the error was.
Please undo that and just remove the falsely added paragraph in line 74

Oh okay thank you for letting me know :heart: I’ll go back and fix it

I think you’re using wrong quotes sign (" ") in “No, let me try a different outfit”
It should be " " and you have them in cursive somehow and it doesn’t show up on a red like “Yes” above :slight_smile: Try to change them first to straight quotes " ".

edit. and before “No, let me…” you should close the bracket }

so it would be like
“Yes.” {
#the rest of the content here
}
“No.” {
#the rest of the content here
}

The quotes look visibly different because they were copied and pasted from a different page (Here, the forums), they just look visibly different but have a normal function.
The error is only because it’s an invalid command since the previous option doesn’t get closed with a } before the new one starts. But just by adding that, the original error mentioned in this topic, won’t go away until the paragraph interrupting line 73 gets removed.
