Inserting Characters name

#1

I needed help with letting my reader insert their name. how do u let them write their own name?
Thx

#2

I need help with the same thing as well because well mine is doing this at the moment…

#3

@KayBug and @Fatima_A

#4

so i think I know what happened

#5

so like do you see how Mother is blue and has the small gray dots for [name] press space until it is blue

#6

The problem is because you are using [NAME] which you’re not suppose to use. If your character is FEMALE AVATAR, you still need to use that for your script because that is the script name. If you read through the link I provided (A Guide to Typed-In Choices), it will tell you how to have the reader’s chosen name on top of the speech bubble. So change [NAME] to FEMALE AVATAR

#8

Did this answer your question @Fatima_A? :slight_smile:

#9

no im still confused because now it says auto bot

Avatar - Female {

&INKFEMALEAVATAR enters from left to screen center

    NARRATOR
So... what's your name?

label first_name_input

input What’s Your First Name?|What’s Your First Name?|Done(FIRSTNAME)

if (FIRSTNAME is “”) {

    NARR
You do need a name...

goto first_name_input

} else {
continue
}

label avatar_0

@zoom reset
@INKFEMALEAVATAR starts think
@speechbubble reset

    NARRATOR
So, [FIRSTNAME], what's your look?

there is a spelling mistake w NARRATOR
So, [FIRSTNAME], what’s your look?
and on preview it says auto bot

Typed in choices do not work in the web previewer. You need to test it out in the app
