Interracial Relationships in Episode Stories

Hey everyone,
I like that a lot of authors on Episode, including non black authors are including black female MCs. I love it when authors talk about racial issues in their stories, when they explain aspects of black culture and even write about colorism. However, everytime there is a black female lead, the male love interest(s) are almost always white. Now, there is nothing wrong with this, but on this platform I feel it is over done. A black woman is rarely displayed as someone in a relationship with another black man, or another poc. Idk, just something I was thinking about. Additionally, I want to give props to all the authors who do include black male leads as well as black female leads in their stories. You are very much appreciated :sparkles:

I agree completely, however, i understand why people make interracial couples in stories that talk about racism since interracial relationships fall into that topic. We do need more black, male LIs

Write the stories you want to read, sis. I mostly do interracial relationships because I don’t have positive experiences with Black men. My whole life, it’s only been men of other races that appreciate me.

guilty. my new story I am working on has a light black female mc and a white LL.to be fair he is not human

and even though MC is cc. and LL is not, maybe later in the story. but not in the start, because you are not been told he is the LL. for plot purpose

I think it is better to include all kinds of races in a story. :grin: Per example, in one of our stories, the MC is African American, and the LI is Asian. :+1:

Mine was a biracial girl and a Japanese guy :sweat_smile: but it’s discontinued because episode banned the person I was collaborating with

Mines the opposite. Black dude white female. I’m throwing a LGBT storyline in there too

Well I’m totally guilty, cause all my main couples are biracial. It’s just been that from my point of view those types of relationships get quite a bad wrap for no real reason.

But like i said before on another thread, we’re seriously lacking when it comes to black LIs who aren’t mixed, light skinned or customizable. (Especially in featured episode stories)

I completely agree! We’re still living in a world where the existence of biracial people like me is considered sinful by more than a few people who think “race mixing” is evil! That’s why I love that things are different on Episode! It’s nice and refreshing! :sweat_smile:

Right, people can be so vile and I don’t see why. If that person makes you happy then what’s the issue?

I would love to see a black main character with a black love interest. Actually, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a story like that before. I usually see white/non-POC on white/non-POC or black on white/non-POC.

I’m currently writing a story with some black couples in it. But they’re not all main characters though.
