Is it okay if I include some backgrounds in my story from Pinterest ? (Of course I WILL give credit )

I defintely WONT use backgrounds which have copyright…
But, can I use backgrounds similar to them? and OF COURSE I will mention that ALL the backgrounds are from Pinterest and Episode Life.
Also, in the new featured story, Country Heart, I also saw the writer use a background from Pinterest, but it was edited by a text "Galaxy Music"

Pinterest is a copyrighted site no matter if you see Episode backgrounds there, and the main problem is finding/crediting the creator of that background from that site. People also post others backgrounds without permission/they are not allowed to. So, only Episode Life, and a few backgrounds threads on the forums you can use.

@adilistic.stories just find the owner of the backgrounds and ask if you can use them.

Yeahh…thats the main problem…
But what if I edit the background a lil bit, and still use it…
but I WILL mention that it was taken by Pinterest ? :sweat_smile:
Cuz I also saw the writer in “Country Heart” use a background from Pinterest, but it was edited by a text “Galaxy Music” sth like that…

You can’t edit the background either, suppose the background is someone’s work and they don’t want it to be altered/edited, that’s why it’s important to use Public Domain websites.

Hm, was it on the background or used as an overlay? :thinking: I mean the text.

No, you do not want to chance it. Episode can’t check if it is copyrighted unless it is something obviously copyrighted. There are many places to get backgrounds that you are able to use but Pinterest and google are not one of them. You can’t tell just because they have a watermark as they can be removed or they are from another game. It will be near impossible to find the owner and you would need permission. As for country heart, they have a background that has BB-8 in the background they clearly miss things. :woman_shrugging: Try finding ones on royalty free websites or drives.
