Is it okay to find backgrounds on Pinterest and Google, and give credit to the site I found it on? are there any sites you suggest that can be used for backgrounds without paying?

No, on google and pintrest you don’t know who owns copyright of the image. I would try unslash or pixabay.

Oh, is this true? I’m thinking on writing a new story and was about to look at Pinterest.

I would not suggest doing so, you might get in a lot of trouble if you are caught.

There are many websites that you can use pictures freely and you can scout out someone who has backgrounds that you like.
