Is there a way to make an overlay go underneath characters?

Hey guys, is there a way to put an overlay underneath the characters in a scene?

Yeah, say there’s a couch overlay, but i want it to go under characters, is there a way to do that?

i havent tried it yet, havent found a couch overlay, think im gonna scrap the idea

I think you would @OVERLAY NAME moves to layer 0
@CHARACTER moves to layer 1

I believe they mean having the characters in front of the sofa (sitting on it) so the sofa is behind them, it doesn’t cover them.

OK, you can search for sofa overlays at Pixabay, Pexels or 📝 Ultimate List of Backgrounds and Overlays Editors / Creators! -make sure the sofa is PNG, has a transparent background and it’s less than 1 MB, also make sure it’s not copyrighted. So be careful if you’re getting it from Google.

Anyways to place them can use spot directing (Joseph Evans’ has tutorials on this on YouTube)
